10 best Nigerian Podcasts to listen to

For many decades, traditional radio was the go-to and be-all for music, news, and everything in between.

And even though FM and AM dials — helped by low internet penetration rates — still hold the major ‘share of the earsphere’, a lot is changing.

In the US, podcasts got their big break in 2014 with the success of the investigative journalism show ‘Serial.’ But back home, it wasn’t until two years later when Loose Talk, the pop culture podcast, hosted by the trio of Osagie Alonge, Ayomide Tayo, and Steve Dede came alive did many see podcasting as viable.

Six years down the line, podcasts have steadily become a staple in our everyday lives with hundreds of new podcasts covering a range of subject matter now existing. They have gone beyond one or two individuals with plenty to say and a microphone to say it to, into well-produced shows in properly set-up studios with celebrity guests. Several podcasts have taken it a step further with monetization through live sessions and endorsements.
